
I’m the author of the full-length collections, After Dayton (2008) & Mantle (2013), as well as several chapbooks, including Ozarks (2019) & /anode, a/node, an/ode (2014). My poem, “The Natural State,” won the 2018 Omnidawn Single Poem Broadside Contest. Other poems have appeared or are forthcoming in many journals, including South Dakota Review, The Minnesota Review, Denver Quarterly, Midwest Review, Fence, & Hunger Mountain.
I earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst & a PhD in English/Creative Writing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I grew up in western North Carolina & currently reside in Indianapolis, IN where I co-founded & co-coordinate the NIGHTJAR Poetry Series.
